To frame them without causing damage, and without diminishing their value,
requires not only advanced technical skill, but also deep understanding and respect.

Our framing is not intended to transform the kimono.
Rather, it is a form created to preserve the inherent beauty and meaning that each kimono carries, for the future.

Within our atelier works a master Hyōgushi — a traditional Japanese mounting specialist.
This is not a task of simply “attaching” or “displaying,”
but a highly specialized craft dedicated to protecting both the value and the longevity of each piece.

Many Japanese works of art are extraordinarily delicate and subject to change over time.

Understanding the expansion and contraction of paper and textile,
accounting for humidity, temperature, and gravity,
and working with decades — even generations — in mind,

our work is not to “prevent deterioration,”
but to allow each kimono to age naturally, with dignity.
